Information We Collect
We collect personally identifiable information (“Personal Data”) about you that you provide to us while using the Site. Personal Data includes any and all information that can identify you as a specific individual, including, without limitation, your name, address, phone number, credit card number or e-mail address. We also collect non-personally identifiable information (“Non-Personal Data”), including, without limitation, your log-in name, IP address, and other interactions with the site including search preferences related to specific searches. Your Non-Personal Data may be linked to your Personal Data under some circumstances, and could be considered Personal Data to the extent such linkage enables you to be personally identified. Julius does not track users across third-party websites or other online services, and therefore does not use “do not track” signals or similar mechanisms.
Protecting Your Personal Data
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure correct use of Personal Data, we will employ reasonable and current Internet security methods and technologies. To protect credit card transactions while in transit, Julius currently uses Secure Socket Layer technology to encrypt Personal Data. No method of transmitting information over the Internet, or storing data electronically, is 100% secure, however, and Julius therefore cannot provide a guaranty of absolute security.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use Personal Data to provide you with the products and services from our Site, to build features that will make the services available on the Site easier to use, and to contact you about these services. This includes better customer support, timely notice of new services and special offers, and more relevant content.
From time to time, Julius may contact you to request feedback on your experience using the Site, to assist us in improving the Site, or to offer special savings or promotions to you. If you would prefer not to receive notices of special savings or promotions, you may simply opt-out from receiving them by contacting Julius.
Sharing Your Personal Data
Julius does not share your Personal Data, except as disclosed in this statement or unless we receive your consent. Julius may share your Personal Data with its subsidiaries and with third parties as described in the categories below:
Certain Services: In order to provide you with certain services, we may share your Personal Data with our subsidiaries or third party partners. Third-party partners consist of companies with which Julius has contracted in order to provide you with services or products featured on our Site.
Future Business Transfers: Our business is constantly changing. As part of that process, Julius may sell or buy other companies, and Personal Data may be transferred as part of these transactions. It is also possible that Julius, or substantially all of its assets, may be acquired by another company, whether by merger, sale of assets or otherwise, and Personal Data may be transferred as part of such a transaction.
Compliance with Law and Other Disclosures: Julius reserves the right to release Personal Data in order to comply with applicable law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us. We may also release Personal Data to enforce or apply the terms and conditions applicable to our products and services, protect us or others against fraudulent or inappropriate activities, or otherwise protect the rights, property or safety of Julius, our affiliated companies, our customers, or others.
Cookies (& Persistent Local Data)
Third party cookies and pixels: We use third-party partners to track your page visits and actions within the Site in order to determine what site features and content is the most popular or most used. This data is used to deliver customized content and promotions to customers, to maintain the quality of the Site and to provide general statistics regarding the use of the Site.
In addition, we may share web site usage information about visitors to our Site to companies for the purpose of market research analysis on our Site and to deliver relevant ads tailored to you based on what parts of the Site you have viewed. For these purposes, we and our third-party partners may place pixel tags (also called “clear gifs”) on some of the pages you visit on our Site. We will then use the Non-Personal Data that is collected using these pixel tags to serve you relevant advertisements when you are visiting other sites on the Internet. These advertisements may be targeted to specific searches you conducted on the Site during earlier browsing sessions.
If you would like more information about the information collection practices of third-party advertising companies and your choices about not having this information used by these companies or opt out of online preference marketing, click here. Without cookies, however, you may not have access to certain features on our Site, including certain personalized content.
You can also delete all cookies that are already on your computer’s hard drive by searching for files with “cookie” in it. This action could affect your subsequent visits to certain web sites, including our Site, by requiring that, for example, you enter your login name when you return to that website.
How You Can Access or Change Your Personal Data
Julius understands that you may want to change, access or delete your Personal Data. You may do so by accessing your profile yourself or by contacting us via email. To protect your privacy and security, we will verify your identity before granting access or making changes to your Personal Data. Any request to access your Personal Data will be answered in less than thirty (30) days. If you have registered your profile on any of the services available on our Site, your e-mail address and password are required in order to access your profile information.
What Are Your Privacy Rights
In Short: In some regions, such as the European Economic Area, you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.
In some regions (like the European Economic Area), you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure; (iii) to restrict the processing of your personal information; and (iv) if applicable, to data portability. In certain circumstances, you may also have the right to object to the processing of your personal information. To make such a request, please use the contact details provided below. We will consider and act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a data privacy law that goes into effect on January 1, 2020. This law establishes various rights for California state residents. The law applies to companies that do business in California and meet one of several criteria related to revenue, data processing, and other factors. CCPA requires giving residents the right to opt out of the “sale” of their “personal information” (as the law defines those terms), with the opt-out offered via a prominent “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link on the “selling” party’s homepage. CCPA does recognize certain exceptions to the definition of “sale,” such that not all transfers of personal information are “sales.” For example, transferring personal information to a “service provider” under the law is not a sale. As such, Julius is compliant to these terms.
If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Please note however that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal.
If you are resident in the European Economic Area and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. You can find their contact details here: http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/bodies/authorities/index_en.htm
